Forgiveness

 

"If You, O LORD, kept a record of sins – O LORD, who could stand? But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared." Psalm 130:3,4

God wants us to forgive others so that our line of communication with Him can stay open and clear. He knows that unforgiveness leads to a whole host of problems, like anger, rage, resentment, bitterness, hatred, and even revenge. Unforgiveness is poison in our hearts. It has to come out.


Forgiveness is never going to come as a feeling; it is only going to come as an act of faith. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our sins, as we also forgive those who sin against us." He commands us to forgive so that we can have forgiveness ourselves. Just look at the cross where He died, and tell Him what is really in your heart. He can take it! And remember, the Holy Spirit is with you – trust Him and ask Him to help you. He is fully informed, fully present, and completely able
